PAA Minutes September 5,
2007

AD's Report
All sports photos were
taken with the exception of Field Hockey and Golf as these teams do
not have their uniforms yet. Uniforms are expected in this week and
pictures will be scheduled as soon as possible
Motions were approved to buy:
one practice goal for soccer @ approx. $700 (soccer boosters have already paid for the other goal)
a chest protector/padding for the field hockey goalie
Dan Thornton is looking
into buying a new ice machine for the athletic department/trainer. He
will try to pay for that within the athletic budget, but if not, will
come to the PAA for funding.
PAA Agenda
Waiting for field hockey and golf team pictures.
Currently have approx. 37 pages of ads and 20 pages of team photos…most we have had to date.
Ordering 350 books for the Fall at a cost of $3.00 each.
Volunteers are needed to
sell books for the various sports, please contact Elaine Poretta at nat1098@comcast.net or Renee Llorente at reneellorente@comcast.net if you can do this.
Outdoor concession stand has been stocked and is ready for the Fall season. The Board of Health will be coming to inspect it some time next week.
We need 4-5 people to work each home game:
Sept.29 at 1.30pm
Oct. 20 at 2.30pm
Oct.27 at 1.30pm
Nov. 3 at 3.00pm

Concession stands are
run by PAA and proceeds benefit all sports at Pentucket!
PAA is organizing a wiffle ball tournament at Groveland Days Saturday Sept 8
Come down and enjoy the fun and help raise money for the PAA.
Field lines need to be painted on Friday night or Saturday morning
Need 3 or 4 people to help
organize this event.
These need to be painted
and repairs made where necessary. We are looking for volunteers to spend
a few hours painting…please email Kevin Eddy at daddydayx2@comcast.net if you would like to help out.
Varsity jackets need to be ordered for Fall athletes.
Deb Stephenson is willing
to draft a letter to all varsity athletes who have already earned their
jacket to see if they want the new style jacket (which they will have
to pay for). She will collect money and order jackets.
Frank Bolla said the Board
of Health does not have a problem with parents bringing pot luck dinner
on to school property for the banquets. Dan Thornton will check the
school policy to see if they are allowing this or not. A decision will
be made at the next meeting as to what the PAA's policy will be about
the sports banquets.
PAA has a CD with $30,000
earmarked to pay for field lights for the football field. The approx.
cost to install field lights is $100,000. PAA needs to discuss whether
we keep these funds for that purpose or whether it is worth pursuing
the idea of renovating the stands, grand stand booth etc with these
funds instead.

The Dodge ball tournament
generated interest and discussion and suggestions `were made to contact
Ginger Iola regarding this.
