PAA Minutes January 9, 2008 

In Attendance: Dan Thornton, Marie Pinzone, Kevin Sullivan, Lynn Viselli, Cathy Crawford, Marie Meehan, Mary Guilmet, Linda Bolla, Frank Bolla, Ann Attenasio, Deb Stephenson, Larry Fisher, Jill Daamen 

AD’s Report

• Gym

      Problems with leakage over stands and on court / Larry Fisher suggested

      checking to see whether the roof was still under warranty

      Also a septic back up in the old girls locker room

• 30 second clock in gym broken…American Scoreboard coming in Thursday to see if it can be repaired
• AD Workshop in March which will focus on grant writing. There is untapped funding out there and it is a matter of knowing how and where to find it
• $11,000 raised from Spin-A-Thon is in the Athletic Budget

      Possibly use some of the funds to purchase an ice machine, football team

     shirts. 

Agenda

• PAA President - Linda Bolla offered to make inquiries as to whether Kevin Eddy will continue.
• Treasurer’s Report

       Basketball Concession profits down in December. Hope to see the

       profits increase as the season progresses.

• Winter Sports Books are available and being distributed to the various sports.
• Scholarship Applications …..need to discuss this more fully at February meeting. Deb Stephenson and Linda Bolla will review the application form and set up guidelines for the scholarship committee when reviewing the applications.
• Clean-Up Day Gym Area 

       Discussion about cleaning the hallway near the gym, Larry Fisher will get a

       quote to have the ceiling painted. We will try to have this done first and then

       clean/update the trophy cases/paint stair rails etc. Nothing finalized as we

       need permission from the facilities manager to move forward with this

       project.

• Other

       Softball

      New uniforms for the softball team?

       Questions pertaining to the softball fields…which fields will be used for

       various teams? Stevens Field in Merrimac might be used for the Freshman

       teams. Athletic Dept. hoping to replace the stone dirt with clay at the high

       school field.
