MINUTES OF PAA MEETING December 2, 2009

Notes from School Committee Meeting

 

Budget is 1M short – 10% cuts (60 teacher positions)

 

Full cut of athletics being discussed – that means 100% in user fees

 

Right now we pay 60% and school pays 40%

 

Discussed sending a letter from PAA to superintendant regarding the loss of student athletes and the detriment to the school if fees go to 100%

More discussion was had on bringing all the booster groups into the PAA to accomplish bigger goals. 

 

 

Fundraising and Funds Requests

 

Hockey wanted approval for a fundraiser at West Newbury House of Pizza.  APPROVED.

 

Hockey team would like to purchase 20 hockey bags @ $70 each or $1400 +/- for varsity players. They will recycle them every year.  PAA APPROVED.

 

Boys Basketball coach requested new uniforms for freshman boys (they had no shorts)

17 @ $140 each or $2,380.00 PAA APPROVED.
