Fundraising

Brett Bogart of Boston Masspass came to present an Entertainment Book to sell as a fundraiser for PAA.  Brett is a Pentucket alumnist who played soccer while attending  Pentucket.  The book would cost $20.00 and we would profit $10.00.  The book would contain coupons for many local businesses and we discussed perhaps getting some coupons in there for some national chains as well.  Some suggestions were grocery stores, sport stores like Olympia (in essence stores where we all spend our money).  The deadline for print is the end of June beginning of July so these would have to be sold in the Fall.  This would be an all sport fundraiser. Every athlete would be expected to sell 5 books.

PAA realizes this fundraiser would be in direct conflict with the Soccer gold card fundraiser and we invite representatives from soccer boosters to attend our next meeting so that we may discuss what to do about the conflict.

We would like all boosters to join us as one big sports boosters group to be able to accomplish bigger projects for our school.  The facilities at Pentucket are woefully lacking and this is our main objective for fundraising in the future.  In the past, we have basically been subsidizing uniforms and/or equipment.  We believe that if we all join together, we can accomplish bigger and better things for our athletes.

Dave Fudge also presented his idea for an annual Pentucket Pride 5K race.  Attached is a flyer with information on this event.

Spring Sports Books

Last year we ordered 85 books and had to reorder 25 more.  We decided to order 100 this year.  Anyone interested in helping sell the books, please contact Elaine Poretta at nat1098@comcast.net.  We usually try to find someone from every level of sport to sell at their respective games.

As mentioned previously, Elaine Poretta and Renee Llorente are stepping down from the Sport Book committee.  Kathy Porter has agreed to shadow Elaine this year and take over next year.  Liz Babeu will still be helping and we need one more person to help with this endeavor.

Website:  Marie Pinzone is stepping down from managing the PAA website for us.  Kathy Porter has agreed to oversee the website and we talked about getting a student who is interested in web-page design to maybe be involved as a community service project.

Larry Fisher has decided to step down as President of PAA so we are looking for someone to fill that position as well. Please speak to Larry at lsfisher.electric@comcast.net if you are interested.
