AD's Report
Transportation to off site practice fields has been an issue. Although there is a shuttle bus service available to the practice fields, problems arise when students with cars transport other students. There will be a policies and permission slip included in the handbook next year for students to sign with regard to transportation. .
Tennis - Boys - $225/ Girls - $668.40 for new uniforms/shirts
Baseball - $1,000 for new bats, balls, repair batting cage
Softball - Coach Puleo has received a donation of $1,000 (possibly $1,500) towards new uniforms and a face mask; asking PAA to fund the balance
The AD has been approached by Tom Vitrano, a representative for Nike, to negotiate a contract whereby we would order our uniforms from him. In view of the fact that most of our teams have recently received new uniforms, this was declined.
The pad used for pole vaulting is badly damaged. A new pad costs $10,000
- $15,000. A new cover costs $3,000. Part of the problem is due to the
lack of/poor storage.
Agenda
April 8
Coaches are requested to get in contact with Janice Littrell as soon as possible to co-ordinate the photo/roster.
125 books ordered last year, due to decrease in sales 75 will be ordered this Spring.
The seasonal sports photo books are PAA's biggest fundraiser (over $6,000 a year) so timely distribution and sales are extremely important to PAA and all sports teams.
Committee has been formed with representatives from all three towns. Closing date for applications is April 15.
Basketball Boosters - Comedy Night May 2
Baseball Boosters - Comedy Night May 21
A reminder to all booster groups to get approval from the AD before commencing with a fundraiser.
Tom Dunn, President of the Youth Lacrosse has approached PAA about heading up the concessions at the Memorial Day Lacrosse Tournament at Triton. Although this would be a good opportunity to make $$$$ for PAA most of those present felt that there is not much time to organize the private vendors and the general running of the event. We would like more information and more notice to consider this for next year. Mary Guilmet noted that the clean up for this event is a big factor and needs to be considered if PAA decides to run it in the future.
Guidelines for organizing banquets need to be handed out to captains prior to the event.
Coach Parent and the administration have reached an agreement that is acceptable to all parties about the use of the Pentucket gym for the summer basketball camps. Brochures for his basketball camp will be distributed soon.
Laurie LeBlanc has volunteered to take over the position of Treasurer next year. The position of secretary will also be open in the fall. If you think this is something that you'd like to do please let Jill Daamen know by email at
The following funding was approved by PAA (receipts/proof of purchase required)
